1. Who we are and the scope of this policy
“Springborn,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Springborn Coffee project and the team operating springborncoffee.com. The approved public-facing company name is Springborn Coffee, Inc.. The U.S. company is currently being organized; we will update this policy when incorporation details and a valid mailing address are available.
This policy applies to the public website, pre-launch email signup, and related Springborn pages that link to it. A future authorized crowdfunding, payment, store, or community provider may publish its own privacy policy for information it collects.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- first name and optional last name;
- email address;
- country and, for U.S. visitors, state;
- communication consent and the policy version accepted;
- community or company-update interests you choose to express;
- messages you send to us.
Verification and security information
We record timestamps and security-limited identifiers derived from IP address and browser information to prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and document consent. Raw verification requests are temporary: the six-digit code expires after ten minutes, and no lead is inserted into MariaDB unless the email is confirmed.
Cookies and similar technologies
The current pre-launch site uses essential session technology for security, CSRF protection, and email verification. We do not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics. If this changes, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated first.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- verify that an email address belongs to the person joining;
- send requested community, coffee, and company-building updates;
- operate unsubscribe and consent-withdrawal controls;
- secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
- respond to questions and privacy requests;
- maintain records required for compliance and fraud prevention.
Consent is the basis for optional communications. You may withdraw it at any time. Transactional messages—such as a verification code or security notice—are kept separate from marketing messages.
5. Retention and security
Confirmed lead and consent records are retained while a subscription is active and afterward only as reasonably necessary to honor suppression choices, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. A deletion request may result in a minimal suppression record so we do not accidentally resubscribe the address.
We use access controls, prepared database statements, encryption in transit, protected configuration outside the public web directory, rate limiting, and hashed security identifiers. No online system is completely risk-free, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may ask to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information. You may withdraw communication consent or unsubscribe at any time. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request.
Send requests to hello@springborncoffee.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” We may verify your identity before acting. Where applicable, an authorized agent may submit a request with proof of authority.
7. Children’s privacy
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted.
8. International processing and external links
Information may be processed outside your state or country where our infrastructure or service providers operate. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service and applicable law.
Links to community, campaign, social, or other external services are governed by those services’ own privacy practices.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Springborn develops. Material changes will receive a new effective date and policy version and, when appropriate, notice or renewed consent.
10. Contact
Email: hello@springborncoffee.com. A valid U.S. mailing address will be published before commercial marketing email is enabled. No placeholder or fictitious address will be used.
